About the event
CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace
Intended audience: Persons who do not work in the health care field but are occupationally required to, or desire to, have CPR and AED knowledge and skills, such as emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents and babysitters.
Overview: Provides individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic CPR life support in an emergency. Includes AED component and Obstructed Airway skills.
Basic First Aid Training
Intended audience: Individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills with a focus on adults, children or both; including emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents and babysitters.
Overview: Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim.
The Basic First Aid program participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies like bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction, diabetic and seizures is shared.
